About the position

The Nurse of the Day position at the City of Fargo involves providing professional nursing care to clients in various settings, including homes, clinics, and schools, as part of a comprehensive public health program. The nurse will also respond to public health emergencies and ensure compliance with safety guidelines while working independently under general supervision.

Responsibilities

• Perform professional nursing care to clients in diverse settings including homes, clinics, and schools.
• Assess client needs and identify physical and/or psychosocial health issues.
• Formulate and implement care plans in collaboration with clients and families.
• Administer immunizations, treatments, and diagnostic procedures.
• Provide culturally sensitive health education and instruction.
• Delegate duties to Home Health Aides and other ancillary staff.
• Maintain accurate records and ensure client confidentiality.
• Respond to public health emergencies and fulfill roles in the Emergency Operations Plan.
• Communicate effectively with clients, families, and other healthcare professionals.
• Participate in multidisciplinary approaches to care.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in nursing.
• Two or more years of professional nursing experience.
• Valid State of North Dakota RN license.
• Mid-level Driver's License or equivalent mobility.
• Knowledge of nursing principles and practices.
• Skill in administering medical treatments and procedures.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
