About the position

Marc Whitehead & Associates is seeking a dedicated, full-time Nurse Paralegal to assist in managing and developing medical and vocational evidence for disability insurance claims. This role is pivotal in facilitating the collection of critical medical documentation and coordinating additional medical testing, ensuring our clients receive the most robust representation possible.

Responsibilities

  • Establish and maintain professional relationships with clients' treating physicians and medical staff.
  • Work with Medical Records Specialist to obtain necessary medical records and documentation of disability.
  • Follow up diligently with medical professionals to ensure timely receipt of required medical documents and responses to queries.
  • Coordinate and schedule clients for additional medical tests, such as MRIs and neuropsychological evaluations.
  • Manage logistics for client testing, including appointment scheduling and transportation.
  • Draft and prepare detailed case reports and summaries incorporating medical findings and test results.
  • Develop comprehensive exhibits for trials and hearings, including medical charts and images.
  • Provide guidance to clients on managing their medical care related to their disability claims.
  • Communicate regularly with case managers and attorneys to provide updates on the acquisition of medical evidence.
  • Participate in case reviews and strategy meetings to ensure alignment of legal strategies with medical evidence.
  • Ensure all client interactions and communications with medical professionals are meticulously documented in client files.
  • Maintain a secure and organized system for storing and retrieving important medical and legal documents.

Requirements

  • Registered Nurse (RN), Licensed Vocational Nurse (LVN), or equivalent with current licensure.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, capable of engaging effectively with medical professionals and clients.
  • High degree of initiative and ability to work independently on complex tasks.
