About the position

Our Nurse Practitioner is a primary member of the health team who provides medical and educational services to patients under the supervision of a licensed physician, according to Nurse Practitioner Protocol, and within the scope of the Nurse Practitioner License. This individual works within a cooperative department, utilizing team effort with health care providers, co-workers, and the public to provide positive patient interaction. In this role, the Pediatric Nurse Practitioner is involved in a variety of cases that are customary to an Urgent Care setting, providing pediatric care to patients from Infant to the age of 21 and their families.

Responsibilities

  • Provide medical and educational services to patients under the supervision of a licensed physician.
  • Work collaboratively with health care providers, co-workers, and the public to ensure positive patient interactions.
  • Provide pediatric care to patients from Infant to the age of 21 and their families in an Urgent Care setting.

Requirements

  • Master's or Doctorate's degree from an accredited nursing program.
  • Active RN and PNP licensure in AL and board certification as a NP in Pediatric Acute Care, Pediatric Primary Care or Family Care.
  • 2+ years of experience providing care as a nurse practitioner.
  • Strong acute care clinical background preferred but not required.
  • Ability to manage varied activities in a fast-paced urgent care environment.
  • Provide evidence-based quality care.
  • Comfortable with technology (i.e. EMR, Microsoft Suite).
  • Strong relationship building skills and ability to work in a team setting.
  • Ability to communicate effectively, in verbal and written form, with medical partners at various levels, patients, and family members.

Nice-to-haves

  • Strong acute care clinical background preferred.
