About the position
Geisinger's Heart & Vascular Institute is seeking a Nurse Practitioner to join the Cardiology department at Geisinger Medical Center in Danville, Pennsylvania. This role involves collaborating with physicians to provide comprehensive care to adult cardiac patients, managing both inpatient and outpatient cardiology operations, and ensuring efficient patient evaluations and follow-up care.
Responsibilities
- Collaborate with physicians to assess, diagnose, and treat adult cardiac patients referred to the cardiology service.
- Demonstrate autonomy through patient evaluations, diagnosis, treatment, and follow-up care.
- Manage and assist in the smooth operations of inpatient cardiology patients, outpatient cardiology clinic, cardiac labs, and outreach cardiology clinics.
- Order necessary testing and interpret results, prescribing appropriate medication regimens within the scope of practice.
- Work in collaboration with the physician and maintain licensure as a nurse practitioner in Pennsylvania.
Requirements
- Master's Degree in Nursing (Nurse Practitioner)
- Certified Nurse Practitioner - American Academy of Nurse Practitioners
- Basic Life Support Certification
- Licensed Registered Nurse in Pennsylvania
