About the position
We are seeking an experienced General Surgery/Colorectal Surgery Physician Assistant or Nurse Practitioner to join our established Hospital in Butte County, California. This role focuses on providing specialized treatment for diseases of the colon, rectum, and anus, utilizing state-of-the-art operating suites for minimally invasive surgical procedures. The position involves assisting physicians with pre-operative and post-operative care, ensuring a smooth transition for patients from hospital to home.
Responsibilities
- Assist the physician with all pre-operative and post-operative rounding and clinic patients.
- Initiate daily post-operative patient care management and clinic rounds.
- Provide specialized treatment for diseases of the colon, rectum, and anus.
- Utilize advanced laparoscopic and robotic-assisted operations in surgical procedures.
Requirements
- Current California Physician Assistant or Nurse Practitioner License.
- Certification by National Commission on Certification of Physician Assistant (NCCPA), if not a graduate from an accredited ARC Physician Assistant educational program.
- Current CPR recognition.
- Advanced Cardiac Life Support certification within 3 months of hire.
- Drug Enforcement Agency (DEA) number or proof of application.
- Meets Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS) requirements to bill Medicare.
