About the position
The Riverside University Health System (RUHS) is seeking experienced Family Nurse Practitioners for its Community Health Centers (CHCs) in the desert region of Riverside County. This role involves providing comprehensive primary care to patients of all ages, performing various medical procedures, and working within a high-volume outpatient clinic environment dedicated to serving underserved populations. Candidates with bilingual skills in Spanish and a minimum of two to three years of primary care experience are strongly preferred. Nurse Practitioners may also qualify for federal, state, and local loan repayment programs due to the clinics' designation as federally qualified health centers.
Responsibilities
- Take patient health histories and perform physical examinations.
- Identify abnormalities and concerns in physical, mental, emotional, developmental, and psychosocial functioning.
- Order, review, and interpret diagnostic and screening procedures.
- Perform selected diagnostic and therapeutic procedures and administer medications and therapeutic devices.
- Provide health counseling and educate patients on specific areas related to their illness or health status.
- Refer patients for further diagnosis and treatment when indicated and identify those requiring immediate physician attention.
- Initiate orders for medication and therapeutic devices and assist in orienting less experienced nurse practitioners.
- Participate in clinical decision-making and collaborate with other healthcare professionals.
Requirements
- Bachelor's or Master's degree from an accredited college or university in nursing, public health, health sciences, or a closely related field.
- Current certification as a Nurse Practitioner in a field of specialty.
- Board certification is required.
