About the position
We are seeking a full-time Family Nurse Practitioner (FNP) to support the 56th Medical Group at Luke AFB. The role involves providing a comprehensive range of nurse practitioner services, including patient examinations, immunizations, and health education, while collaborating with a diverse healthcare team. The position emphasizes preventive care and health maintenance, ensuring high-quality patient care in a supportive environment.
Responsibilities
- Provide a full range of outcome-based nurse practitioner services in accordance with privileges granted by the MTF.
- Supervise and provide general screening and medical care and examinations of patients for routine, acute, and chronic conditions.
- Provide immunizations and diagnose, treat, and counsel patients as indicated.
- Technically direct and teach other staff, providing evidence-based educational lectures and participating in in-service training.
- Diagnose and treat patients with common acute conditions, chronic illnesses, or minor trauma within accepted protocols and guidelines.
- Promote preventive care and health maintenance through education and counseling.
- Communicate and collaborate with a diverse group of people to inform the healthcare team of plans/actions.
- Recognize conditions that require isolation and ensure universal precautions are used in all patient encounters.
- Attend staff meetings for case discussion, continuing education, and quality improvement.
Requirements
- Master of Nursing (MSN) degree
- Current, full, active, and unrestricted NP license from any state
- Certified Family Nurse Practitioner (FNP-C) by ANCC or AANP
- Minimum 2 years' experience within the past 3 years as a Nurse Practitioner
- Current AHA or ARC BLS Certification
- Ability to pass a Government background check/security clearance
