About The Position
Baltimore Medical System (BMS) is a community-based, nonprofit organization that provides quality primary/outpatient care services to the underserved communities in the Greater Baltimore area. BMS is the largest FQHC in Maryland, and we offer a variety of comprehensive primary and behavioral health services through five (5) community health centers and eight (8) school-based health centers. The Nurse Practitioner is a licensed independent practitioner who assesses patient health by interviewing patients, performing physical examinations, obtaining, updating, and studying medical histories. The NP determines abnormal conditions by administering or ordering diagnostic tests, such as x-rays, electrocardiograms, and laboratory studies; interpreting test results. The position requires frequent communication with external contacts and is responsible for ensuring ongoing service. The schedule is Monday-Friday: 8:00am-5:00pm with one late night per week from 10:00am-7:00pm and some Saturdays from 9am-1pm.
