The Nurse Practitioner in this hospital-based weekend program provides direct care to adult patients, managing both acute and stable chronic health conditions. This role involves performing comprehensive physical examinations, ordering and interpreting diagnostic tests, and prescribing therapeutic measures. The Nurse Practitioner collaborates with physicians and the interdisciplinary team to enhance patient satisfaction and optimize health outcomes through effective resource management.

Responsibilities

• Provide direct care to assigned adult patient populations.
• Diagnose and manage common acute and stable chronic health conditions.
• Perform comprehensive physical examinations and order diagnostic tests.
• Obtain specialty consults and prescribe therapeutic measures, including medications.
• Incorporate health promotion and disease prevention into practice.
• Educate patients and families about health conditions and care plans.
• Collaborate with physicians and the interdisciplinary team to coordinate patient care.

Requirements

• Registered Nurse currently licensed in the State of Ohio.
• National certification as a Nurse Practitioner with prescriptive authority.
• Master's degree required.
• 2-3 years of current hospital experience as a Nurse Practitioner preferred.
• Demonstrated competency in advanced assessment and diagnosis.

Nice-to-haves

• Experience in Internal Medicine, Acute Care, or Geriatrics preferred.
