Responsibilities

  • Promote and maintain health and healing by providing medical services related to diagnosis, treatment, and education.
  • Collaborate with physicians and other healthcare team members according to established standards and practices.
  • Assess patient health by interviewing patients and performing physical examinations.
  • Determine abnormal conditions by administering or ordering diagnostic tests and interpreting test results.
  • Perform therapeutic procedures such as administering injections and managing wounds.
  • Document patient care services in the electronic medical record in a timely manner.
  • Instruct and counsel patients on therapeutic regimens and wellness promotion.
  • Develop and implement patient management plans to ensure continuity of care.
  • Maintain a safe and clean working environment by complying with procedures and regulations.
  • Comply with legal and professional requirements by studying existing and new legislation.
  • Maintain professional knowledge by attending educational workshops and participating in professional societies.
  • Develop healthcare team staff by providing educational opportunities and experiential growth.

Requirements

  • Successful completion of an approved advanced practice registered nurse program.
  • Must have a master's degree, post-master's certificate, or doctoral degree.
  • Licensure as a Registered Nurse in the State of Nebraska or by a compact state under the Nurse Licensure Compact Act.
  • Current licensure as an Advanced Practice Registered Nurse by the State of Nebraska.
  • Prescriptive authority in Nebraska and DEA Certification.
  • One year experience in a hospital or clinic setting preferred.
