About the position

The Nurse Practitioner II at Roseville Hospital specializes in neurology and is responsible for assessing and managing patient care in accordance with established protocols. This full-time position involves conducting physical examinations, collaborating with healthcare teams, and ensuring quality patient care while adhering to Kaiser Permanente policies and California nursing regulations.

Responsibilities

  • Conducts age-appropriate assessments of patients, including history taking and physical examination.
  • Performs ongoing systematic assessment/data collection focusing on various patient statuses.
  • Consults with supervising physician or other clinicians as needed based on patient assessments.
  • Participates with physicians and other clinicians to ensure effective patient care.
  • Reviews medical records for follow-up or ordering diagnostic studies under established protocols.
  • Establishes and maintains communication with other healthcare providers and departments.
  • Establishes effective working relationships with healthcare team members, patients, and families.
  • Delegates appropriately and coordinates duties of healthcare team members.
  • Evaluates effectiveness of care given by team members.
  • Demonstrates knowledge of safety principles and applies them in practice.
  • Performs efficiently in emergency situations following established protocols.
  • Participates in staff development activities for unit and department personnel.
  • Demonstrates knowledge of legal issues, including patient confidentiality and risk management.
  • Participates in unit and department Performance Improvement activities.
  • Participates in nursing research activities as requested.
  • Identifies and solves problems effectively.
  • Demonstrates a service philosophy in all interactions with patients and team members.
  • Demonstrates proficiency in using computers and telecommunication modalities.

Requirements

  • Minimum of 6 months experience as a nurse practitioner.
  • One year of experience as a NP providing specialized care for neurological conditions within the past three years.
  • Masters Degree in Nursing from an accredited program.
  • Completion of a masters program in Adult NP, Family practice NP, Acute Care NP, or Pediatric NP required.
  • California Nurse Practitioner Certificate and Registered Nurse License.
  • Nurse Practitioner Furnishing Number and National Provider Identifier required at hire.
  • Basic Life Support certification and Nurse Practitioner National Certificate.
