About the position

Allied Infusion Services is seeking a part-time Nurse Practitioner (Infusion) to administer infusion therapies. The ideal candidate will have strong skills in starting IV lines and possess 1 to 2 years of infusion experience. This PRN position offers flexible hours based on availability and requires credentialing with Medicare and major commercial payors. The Nurse Practitioner will provide professional nursing care, monitor patient progress, and educate patients and families about treatment procedures.

Responsibilities

  • Perform the infusion therapy as directed by physician orders.
  • Establish intravenous access per policy and procedure.
  • Observe, assess, and document symptoms via nurses note timely.
  • Monitor reactions and patient progress.
  • Educate patients and/or caregivers on disease process, medications.
  • Demonstrate proper infection control techniques and follow universal precautions.
  • Monitor daily refrigerator temps and document daily log.
  • Schedule follow up appointment for next therapy.
  • Provide onsite supervision of LVN/HHA as needed.
  • Notify the physician and other personnel (Nurse Manager) of change in the patient's condition.
  • Perform skills outlined in the company's approved policy and procedure manual.
  • Update clinical records according to policy and procedures.
  • Update knowledge and skills by attending in-service programs, continuing education programs, seminars, and self-study programs annually.
  • Perform inventory count before and after clinic and submit to Nursing leadership daily.
  • Communicate supply needs to Nursing leadership as needed.
  • Adhere to safe nursing practice standards.
  • Maintain professionalism with patient and client staff.
  • Obtain satisfaction survey from patients.
  • Collect co-pays as required.
  • Call no-show patients to schedule.
  • Be knowledgeable about medications to be administered.
  • Mix medication per policy and procedure.
  • Adhere to Medicaid and Medicare regulations.

Requirements

  • Current RN License in the state of Texas.
  • Valid CPR Certification.
  • Minimum of 1 to 2 years of infusion experience.
  • Credentialed with Medicare and major commercial payors such as BCBS/TX, Aetna, Humana, and Cigna.

Nice-to-haves

  • Bilingual capabilities.
  • Experience in Rheumatology, Gastroenterology, or Neurology.
