About the position
The Nurse Practitioner will perform medical assessments on United States Veterans as part of the VA's disability benefits process. This role focuses on conducting Disability Assessments, reviewing medical records, and performing in-person physical exams, while documenting findings electronically. The Nurse Practitioner will not make disability determinations, treat patients, or prescribe medication. The position requires a commitment to serving the Veteran community and offers a structured work schedule.
Responsibilities
- Perform medical assessments on Veterans as part of the VA's disability benefits process.
- Review medical records electronically through a web portal.
- Conduct focused, in-person physical exams on each Veteran.
- Document exam findings electronically as required by the VA.
- Complete questionnaires and form medical opinions based on exam findings.
Requirements
- Must have a current, unrestricted Nurse Practitioner license.
- Proficient in using a computer for documentation and data analysis.
- Skilled in time management and able to meet task requirements.
