About the position
Providence Mission Hospital is seeking a dedicated Nurse Practitioner to join the Neuro ICU team, responsible for treating and managing patients with neurological conditions such as traumatic brain injury, stroke, and neuromuscular diseases. The role involves responding to code strokes, performing neurological examinations, and providing continued care for patients in the Neuro ICU. The position is full-time, Monday to Friday, and offers a competitive salary with additional compensation opportunities.
Responsibilities
- Treat and manage a diverse patient population in the Neuro ICU.
- Respond to code strokes and consult on new cases within the Neuro ICU.
- Perform neurological examinations on patients.
- Provide continued care for patients in the Neuro ICU.
- Perform lumbar punctures as needed.
Requirements
- 1-2 years of Nurse Practitioner experience with a focus on neurological examinations.
- Knowledge of stroke and neurosciences is highly preferred.
- New graduates with a nursing background in Neuro ICU will be considered.
- Bilingual abilities in Spanish are a plus.
Nice-to-haves
- Ability to perform lumbar punctures is preferred but not mandatory.
