About The Position

As an APRN or PA with Ascension Seton Neurosurgery, you will evaluate emergency department patients, manage admitted neurosurgical patients in a hospital setting, see patients in outpatient clinic, and assist in neurosurgical cases in the operating room. You will be based out of Dell Seton Medical Center UT. This is an inpatient position with an opportunity for extra shift pay. Acute Care Certification is preferred for all NP applicants at the time of application, and APRN-First Assist Certification is preferred and required to obtain within one year of start date.

Requirements

• Nurse Practitioner credentialed from the Texas Board of Nursing obtained prior to hire date or job transfer date required.
• Licensed Registered Nurse credentialed from the Texas Board of Nursing obtained prior to hire date or job transfer date required.
• Master's degree of Nursing required.
• BLS Provider credentialed from the American Heart Association (AHA) preferred.
• Drug Enforcement Admin credentialed from the Drug Enforcement Administration preferred.

Nice To Haves

• Acute Care Certification preferred for all NP applicants.
• APRN-First Assist Certification preferred and required to obtain within one year of start date.

Responsibilities

• Obtains patient history and performs assessment.
• Orders, performs and interprets diagnostic procedures.
• Provides and documents direct treatment and management of health conditions.
• Provides counseling and education of patients and their families/caregivers concerning preventative health, treatment options and community resources.
• Performs preventative health assessments, screening, immunizations and care.
