About the position

Hartford HealthCare is seeking a full-time Nurse Practitioner (APRN) or Physician Assistant (PA) for a 100% virtual/remote position with our Medical Group. This role is open to Nurse Practitioners (FNP, ANP, AGNP) and Physician Assistants (PA) who reside in Connecticut. The position offers a full-time schedule, which includes weekdays, 1-2 evenings, and rotating weekends, with no call required. This is an exciting opportunity to join one of the largest non-profit, fully-integrated healthcare systems in the state, allowing our providers to care for their patients no matter where they reside in Connecticut. In this role, Nurse Practitioners and Physician Assistants will perform routine physical examinations and formulate medical, educational, and psychosocial plans to treat patients under established guidelines and in collaboration with the practice physician(s). They will develop plans for further evaluation of health needs, which may include referrals to other health team members or specialists. The position emphasizes the importance of providing appropriate treatment for problems within the scope of the provider's practice as designated by protocols, while also identifying problems outside of their scope of practice and referring them appropriately to a physician. Responsibilities

  • Perform routine physical examinations and formulate medical, educational, and psychosocial plans to treat patients.
  • Develop plans for further evaluation of health needs, including referrals to other health team members or specialists.
  • Provide appropriate treatment for problems within the scope of practice as designated by protocols.
  • Identify problems outside of the scope of practice and refer appropriately to a physician.
  • Collaborate and consult with practice physician(s) and care team members.

Requirements

  • Unrestricted State of Connecticut Medical License (or eligible).
  • Training as an APRN (Family, Adult/Geri Nurse Practitioner) or PA.
  • At least two years of post-graduate experience as a Nurse Practitioner (APRN) or Physician Assistant (PA).
  • Candidate must reside in the state of Connecticut.
