We are currently seeking a Full-Time Independent Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant to join our team in Winchester, VA. This position is part of OptumCare, the largest network of medical groups in the nation, where we are transforming healthcare on a national scale while providing physician-led care locally. The role involves working in a supportive environment where providers are encouraged to practice at the peak of their license, treating patients like family and focusing on their health and well-being. The position requires working 12-hour shifts, with an average patient load of 3-4 patients per hour. Responsibilities include performing suturing, splinting, initial interpretation of digital X-rays, and incisions and drainage. Responsibilities

  • Perform suturing and splinting procedures.
  • Conduct initial interpretation of digital X-rays.
  • Carry out incisions and drainage as needed.
  • Provide care to patients across multiple age groups.
  • Assist at other center locations in the area as required.

Requirements

  • Master's degree in Nursing or Physician Assistant program.
  • Certified as a Family Nurse Practitioner through the ANCC/AANP or certified as a Physician Assistant through the NCCPA.
  • CPR certified or willing to obtain prior to start date.
  • DOT certification or ability to obtain within the first 60 days of employment.
  • Clinical experience working in Family Medicine (2+ years), Urgent Care (1.5+ years), or Emergency Medicine (1+ years).
  • Strong suturing and splinting skills.
  • Experience reading X-rays within the last year.
