About the position
The position involves providing medical care in a collaborative outpatient clinic environment under the supervision of a Medical Director or approved staff physician. The role includes primary and urgent medical management, emergency stabilization of critically ill patients, and teaching responsibilities for residents and medical students. The individual will also engage in patient education and discharge planning, ensuring high-quality medical and nursing care is delivered effectively.
Responsibilities
- Provide primary and urgent medical management for outpatient clinic patients.
- Stabilize critically ill patients in emergency situations.
- Teach residents and medical students about medical practices and patient care.
- Plan, implement, and evaluate medical and nursing care in collaboration with the healthcare team.
- Educate patient families, staff, and the community on health-related topics.
- Adapt communication and care approaches to meet the needs of diverse patient populations.
- Maintain compliance with federal, state, and local laws and accreditation standards.
Requirements
- Master's or Doctorate degree as an Advanced Practice Registered Nurse or Bachelor's degree in Physician Assistant medicine or Health Sciences.
- Certification as an Acute Care Nurse Practitioner or Acute Care Clinical Nurse Specialist by AACN or ANCC.
- Basic Cardiac Life Support (BCLS) and Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certifications from the American Heart Association.
- Current license as a Physician Assistant in the state of practice and NCCPA certification.
Nice-to-haves
- 3 years of related working experience preferred.
- Strong interpersonal skills and effective communication abilities.
- Proficiency with Windows-style applications and various software packages.
