About the position

The Nurse Practitioner/Physician Assistant (APP) at Mary Free Bed Rehabilitation is responsible for delivering high-quality healthcare services to employees and their families. This role operates independently, providing comprehensive care in an Occupational and Employee health clinical environment, while also collaborating with the healthcare team to ensure effective treatment and wellness programs. The APP will assess, treat, and manage a wide range of health services, contributing to the overall health and well-being of the workforce.

Responsibilities

  • Provide patient care, treatment, and services within the scope of their license and in accordance with federal and state laws.
  • Function as an Advanced Practitioner Provider to deliver coordinated care in an outpatient setting.
  • Write orders and prescriptions for medications as needed.
  • Order, interpret, and evaluate diagnostic tests.
  • Maintain a safe, clean, and orderly environment for patient care.
  • Gather health histories and perform physical examinations.
  • Develop and implement treatment plans for patients.
  • Notify the managing physician about unusual or unexpected events or problems.
  • Communicate effectively with diverse populations, including physicians, employees, and patients.
  • Document patient medical records accurately in paper and/or electronic formats.
  • Assess educational needs of patients and develop healthcare strategies accordingly.
  • Create measurements for healthcare outcomes and evaluate services.

Requirements

  • Master's Degree or above in a relevant field.
  • Licensure as a Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant.
  • Experience in Occupational and Employee health services.
  • Strong documentation skills and ability to navigate medical records.
  • Ability to communicate effectively with diverse populations.
