The Nurse Practitioner at the Center for Sleep and Wake Disorders (CSWD) plays a crucial role in assessing, diagnosing, and managing sleep disorders. This position involves collaboration with an interdisciplinary team to provide high-quality care aimed at improving patient sleep health and overall wellness.

Responsibilities

• Perform comprehensive patient assessments, including medical histories, physical exams, and sleep-focused evaluations.
• Analyze diagnostic sleep studies, such as polysomnograms and home sleep apnea tests.
• Collaborate with physicians to establish precise diagnoses and craft effective treatment strategies.
• Create and execute tailored treatment plans that address individual patient needs and conditions.
• Prescribe, oversee, and adjust medications, therapies, and other interventions targeting sleep disorders.
• Educate patients on lifestyle changes and sleep hygiene to enhance treatment outcomes.
• Schedule and manage follow-up visits to evaluate treatment success and modify plans as necessary.
• Track patient progress and coordinate specialist referrals when indicated.
• Ensure patient records are meticulously documented and current.
• Deliver care with empathy and compassion, supporting patients and their families.
• Respond to patient inquiries and provide support throughout their care journey.

Requirements

• Must possess a valid NP license in Maryland.
• Prior experience in sleep medicine or related disciplines is a plus.
• Demonstrated excellence in clinical assessment and diagnostics.
• Outstanding communication and team collaboration abilities.
• A strong dedication to patient-first healthcare.
• Proven capability to thrive in a team-based healthcare setting.
