PsychoGeriatric Services (PGS) is seeking a dedicated Nurse Practitioner to join our team in providing psychiatric care services at partner facilities in Winchester, VA. This position is ideal for those who are passionate about working with seniors and making a meaningful impact in their lives. As a Nurse Practitioner at PGS, you will have the opportunity to deliver on-site psychiatric assessments and medication management to patients in skilled nursing, assisted living, and other long-term care facilities. You will collaborate closely with facility staff, including nursing home administrators, directors of nursing, and social services, to ensure comprehensive care for our patients. In this role, you will be expected to adhere to established regulations, policies, and procedures while exercising your initiative and independent judgment. Responsibilities

  • Provide on-site psychiatric assessments and medication management to patients in skilled nursing, assisted living, and other long-term care facilities.
  • Consult, educate, and coordinate care with facility staff, including nursing home administrator, director of nursing, and director of social services.
  • Adhere to established regulations, policies, and procedures while exercising initiative and independent judgment.

Requirements

  • Passion for working with seniors and providing exceptional care.
  • State license as nurse practitioner (required).
  • Specialty as psychiatric nurse practitioner (PMHNP) or adult-gerontology nurse practitioner (AGNP) (preferred).
  • DEA license.
  • Availability to work during normal, weekday business hours (no night or weekend on-call!).
  • Ability to stand for 20 minutes.
  • Ability to lift 15 pounds.
