About the position
The Nurse Practitioner will play a crucial role in the management of medical and psychiatric operations at Garfield Park Behavioral Hospital. This position focuses on delivering quality behavioral health care to children, adolescents, and adults across various treatment programs, including inpatient, partial hospitalization, and outpatient services. The Nurse Practitioner will provide comprehensive psychiatric assessments and pharmacological interventions, ensuring culturally competent care for diverse patient populations.
Responsibilities
- Actively serve as a key member of the organization's core management team.
- Ensure effective management of medical/psychiatric operations to support quality behavioral health care delivery.
- Provide comprehensive, direct services to psychiatric patients of all ages and their families.
- Conduct assessments of psychiatric functioning and pharmacological interventions in various treatment settings.
- Perform psycho-diagnostic interviews with patients and their families.
- Seek appropriate supervision and consultation with collaborating physicians for case reviews.
- Educate and orient staff on gender, cultural differences, and age-appropriate care.
Requirements
- Master's Degree in Nursing from an accredited institution.
- Graduation from an accredited Nurse Practitioner program.
- A minimum of three years of experience working within an inpatient psychiatric hospital with children, adolescents, and adults as a Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner.
- Valid IL Nurse Practitioner License.
