About the position

The Clinical Nurse Practice Specialist (CNPS) is a master's-prepared registered nurse who utilizes advanced clinical expertise to enhance patient care across various service lines. This role involves championing evidence-based practices, fostering interdisciplinary collaboration, and leading initiatives for performance improvement in nursing. The CNPS serves as a resource for healthcare teams, engages in scholarly activities, and promotes the professional image of nursing while ensuring compliance with nursing standards and regulations.

Responsibilities

  • Develop strategies to encourage inquiry and positive change in nursing care delivery.
  • Promote interdisciplinary partnerships and provide clinical leadership for treatment protocols and interventions.
  • Advance nursing practice through evidence-based interventions and modification of professional standards.
  • Participate in the development and revision of evidence-based guidelines and compliance standards.
  • Advocate for the professional nurse's role within the interdisciplinary team.
  • Lead change and empower others to influence clinical practice and political processes.
  • Utilize knowledge of nursing regulations and research to guide practice and promote professional development.
  • Foster teamwork and collaborative practice among nursing staff and leadership.
  • Evaluate and redesign practice standards to optimize patient outcomes.
  • Deliver support and mentoring to promote nursing excellence and clinical integration.
  • Conduct performance improvement activities and develop practice protocols for clinical standardization.
  • Monitor quality performance and benchmark against national databases.

Requirements

  • Graduate education in Nursing (MS, MSN, DNP) from an accredited institution.
  • Current Registered Nurse license in Georgia or under the Enhanced Nurse Licensure Compact (eNLC).
  • Current Board certification as a Clinical Nurse Specialist, Nurse Practitioner, Nurse Midwife, or Clinical Nurse Leader.
  • Minimum of 2 years of direct patient care experience in a similar service line.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English.
  • Advanced skills in specialty/service line area and teaching clinical staff.
