About The Position

The Nurse Residency Program at AdventHealth Durand is designed for new graduate nurses and those with less than one year of experience. The Nurse Resident will provide and supervise total nursing care to specific age groups, utilizing the nursing process to achieve departmental goals. Under the direct supervision of a preceptor, the Nurse Resident will transition to independent practice after completing the training program. This role emphasizes outstanding customer service and adherence to compliance regulations.

Requirements

• Must be a graduate of a school of nursing or an accredited nursing program (CCNE or ACEN preferred).
• Must have less than one year of nursing experience.
• Must be graduating in the next year or have graduated within the past year.
• Current Wisconsin or Compact State RN license (may apply without license but must have it prior to licensure deadline).
• Current BLS certification from the American Heart Association.
• Professional resume.

Responsibilities

• Provide and supervise direct and indirect total nursing care responsibilities to identified age-specific groups.
• Utilize the nursing process (assessing, planning, implementing, and evaluating) in patient care delivery.
• Deliver coordinated nursing care for a patient or assigned group of patients within a patient care unit.
• Manage and supervise related clinical activities on a day-to-day basis.
• Actively participate in outstanding customer service and maintain respectful relationships.
