About the position

The Nurse Resident position at INTEGRIS Health Baptist Medical Center is designed for new nursing graduates who are looking to gain hands-on experience in a supportive environment. This full-time role involves working night shifts in the Abdominal Transplant Stepdown unit, where the Nurse Resident will provide basic patient care under the supervision of a Registered Nurse. The position emphasizes the importance of patient safety and adherence to established protocols while allowing the Nurse Resident to develop essential nursing skills.

Responsibilities

• Perform personal patient care tasks such as mouth care, making beds, giving baths, and perineal care.
• Assist with patient safety issues including identification arm band checks and adherence to fall protocols.
• Perform treatments such as urinary catheter care, enema administration, and assisting with patient ambulation.
• Assist in patient admission and discharge processes.
• Conduct and document basic diagnostic testing including vital signs and blood glucose monitoring.
• Perform selected sterile procedures such as specimen collection and wound care.

Requirements

• Must be a new graduate or eligible to graduate from an accredited Nursing Program.
• Eligibility to take the NCLEX exam is required.
• Entry-level position requiring less than 1 year of experience.
