About the position

The Nurse Resident position at INTEGRIS Health Baptist Medical Center is designed for new nursing graduates to provide basic patient care under the supervision of a Registered Nurse in the Med Surg Oncology unit. This role focuses on delivering exceptional care during night shifts (7p-7a) and includes responsibilities such as assisting with personal patient care, ensuring patient safety, and performing basic diagnostic testing. The position is an entry-level opportunity that allows new nurses to gain valuable experience while working towards passing the NCLEX exam.

Responsibilities

• Perform personal patient care tasks such as mouth care, bathing, and grooming.
• Assist with patient safety issues including identification checks and fall protocols.
• Perform treatments such as urinary catheter care and enema administration.
• Assist in patient admission and discharge processes.
• Conduct and document basic diagnostic testing including vital signs and blood glucose monitoring.
• Perform selected sterile procedures like specimen collection and wound care.

Requirements

• Must be a new graduate or eligible to graduate from an accredited Nursing Program.
• Eligibility to take the NCLEX exam.
• Under 1 year of nursing experience.
