About the position

The Nurse Resident position at INTEGRIS Health Baptist Medical Center is designed for new nursing graduates who are looking to gain practical experience in a supportive environment. This role focuses on providing basic patient care under the supervision of a Registered Nurse, particularly within the PACU team. The position emphasizes the importance of patient safety and adherence to national standards while offering a pathway for new nurses to transition into their professional roles.

Responsibilities

• Perform basic patient care under the supervision of a Registered Nurse.
• Assist with specialized tasks and procedures related to the physical, psychosocial, safety, and security needs of patients.
• Adhere to National Patient Safety Goals based on the level of patient contact required.
• May be required to float to other units as needed.
• Participate in on-call status when required.

Requirements

• Must be a new graduate or eligible to graduate from an accredited Nursing Program.
• Eligibility to take the NCLEX exam is required.
• Must pass the NCLEX exam within 6 months of starting the position, with the first attempt within 90 days after graduation.
