About the position

The Nurse Resident position at INTEGRIS Health Baptist Medical Center is designed for new nursing graduates who are looking to gain practical experience in a supportive environment. This role focuses on providing basic patient care under the supervision of a Registered Nurse, particularly within the Surgery team. The position emphasizes the importance of patient safety and adherence to established healthcare protocols while offering a pathway for new nurses to transition into their professional roles.

Responsibilities

• Perform basic patient care under the supervision of a Registered Nurse.
• Assist with specialized tasks and procedures related to patient care.
• Adhere to National Patient Safety Goals as appropriate based on patient contact level.
• Participate in on-call status as required.
• Float to other units as needed.

Requirements

• Must be a new graduate or eligible to graduate from an accredited Nursing Program.
• Eligibility to take the NCLEX exam is required.
• Must pass the NCLEX exam within 6 months of starting the position.
