About the position

The Nurse Resident position at INTEGRIS Health Baptist Medical Center is designed for new nursing graduates who are looking to gain practical experience in a surgical setting. This role involves providing basic patient care under the supervision of a Registered Nurse, focusing on the physical and psychosocial needs of patients. The Nurse Resident will work mid/evening shifts and may be required to float to other units, ensuring adherence to patient safety protocols and assisting with various patient care tasks.

Responsibilities

• Perform personal patient care tasks such as mouth care, making beds, giving baths, and perineal care.
• Assist with patient safety issues including identification arm band presence, adherence to fall protocols, and positioning of patients.
• Perform treatments including urinary catheter care, enema administration, and assisting with patient ambulation.
• Assist in patient admission and discharge processes.
• Conduct and document basic diagnostic testing such as obtaining vital signs and blood glucose monitoring.
• Perform selected sterile procedures including specimen collection and wound care.

Requirements

• Must be a new graduate or eligible to graduate from an accredited Nursing Program.
• Eligibility to take the NCLEX exam.
• Ability to perform basic patient care under supervision.
