The Registered Nurse (RN) in the Emergency Department (ED) at North Campus is responsible for providing comprehensive nursing care to patients by utilizing the nursing process and adhering to the standards of practice for professional nursing. The RN will perform all essential staff nurse activities and will take on the role of charge nurse when assigned. This position requires the RN to maintain overall accountability and responsibility for the patients assigned to them, even when certain tasks may be delegated to Technical Nurses, Patient Care Associates, or Sitters. The RN must ensure that all assignments are performed in accordance with the age and developmental level of the patients being served, demonstrating a commitment to high-quality patient care and safety. In this role, the RN will be expected to demonstrate effective teamwork and communication skills, collaborating with all members of the healthcare team to ensure optimal patient outcomes. The RN will also need to be proficient in learning and applying computer technologies and procedures that impact patient care delivery. The position requires a strong foundation in nursing principles, as well as the ability to adapt to the fast-paced environment of the Emergency Department. The RN will be part of a dynamic team that is dedicated to providing exceptional care to patients in critical situations. The role demands a proactive approach to patient management, with an emphasis on assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation of nursing care.
