About the position

The Nurse RN position at the Halcyon Crisis Center is a part-time role focused on providing psychiatric nursing care to clients experiencing mental health crises. The nurse will assess clients' mental and physical health, develop treatment plans, and coordinate care with other health professionals. This role emphasizes client-centered care in a supportive, home-like environment, aiming to improve the quality of life and wellness of individuals with severe mental illness.

Responsibilities

• Assess clients' mental and physical health and develop treatment plans.
• Consult with psychiatrists and other health professionals regarding client care.
• Manage and administer medications, including long-acting psychotropic medications.
• Coordinate care with outside providers to ensure continuity of care.
• Safely store and handle medications, ensuring proper documentation is completed.
• Provide medication support services to optimize client outcomes.

Requirements

• Current California Registered Nurse (RN) license required and must be kept current during employment.
• BLS certification required and must be kept current throughout employment.
• Previous experience working with a mental health population, especially with severe and persistent mental illness and co-occurring disorders is strongly preferred.
• Ability to physically and mentally assist in emergency situations is required.
• Proficient computer skills, including MS Office.
