About the position
The Nurse Shift Manager for the EP Lab at Mercy General Hospital is responsible for supervising nursing staff during assigned shifts, ensuring high-quality patient care, and managing staffing needs. This role includes monitoring and educating nursing staff, instituting emergency procedures, and overseeing the readiness of the nursing floor for subsequent shifts.
Responsibilities
- Supervises nursing staff assigned to a particular shift.
- Assigns patients to available nursing staff based on patient condition and employee skill level.
- Assesses, monitors, and educates nursing staff on patient care.
- Institutes emergency procedures as necessary.
- Anticipates staffing needs and proactively responds to them.
- Oversees stocking of supplies and updating patient records.
Requirements
- Associates Degree in Nursing (e.g. ADN).
- Minimum of two (2) years of clinical experience.
- California RN license.
- BLS certification.
- ACLS certification.
Nice-to-haves
- Procedural experience in an EP and/or Cath Lab in an acute care setting.
