About the position
The Nurse Supervisor position at the Independence Mental Health Institute (IMHI) involves overseeing and directing nursing staff, including Registered Nurses and Licensed Practical Nurses, in a full-time capacity. Responsibilities
- Direct and supervise assigned nursing staff including Registered Nurses and Licensed Practical Nurses.
- Participate in various committees and leadership roles within the hospital.
- Ensure compliance with The Joint Commission (TJC) and Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS) standards.
- Advocate for patients and their treatment plans.
- Engage in team building and leadership activities.
- Implement policy development and performance improvement initiatives.
- Conduct coaching, counseling, and disciplinary actions for subordinate employees.
- Evaluate performance of nursing staff.
Requirements
- Valid, unrestricted Iowa RN license.
- Bachelor's degree in nursing from an accredited institution or a Master's degree in nursing.
- One year of full-time professional clinical work experience in a relevant nursing specialty area or correctional environment.
