About the position
The position involves administering care to designated patients under the supervision of a registered nurse, performing various direct and indirect patient care duties while utilizing the Nursing Process. The role emphasizes patient safety, effective communication, and adaptability to different patient populations.
Responsibilities
- Administer care to designated patients under the direction of a registered nurse.
- Perform a variety of direct and indirect patient care duties utilizing the Nursing Process.
- Provide observation of patients and intervene as needed to maintain patient safety.
- Communicate effectively with co-workers, patients, families, and visitors.
- Adapt behavior to specific patient populations, respecting privacy and communication styles.
- Perform other related duties as required.
Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Completed sophomore year with a hospital-based clinical rotation from a National League of Nursing accredited school program.
- Student in good standing with the school of nursing.
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from the American Heart Association.
- Proficiency in using computers, software, and web-based applications.
- Effective verbal and written communication skills.
- Strong interpersonal skills.
- Organizing and prioritizing skills.
- Decision-making and delegation skills.
- Ability to maintain confidentiality and work a flexible schedule.
Nice-to-haves
- Completed junior year with a hospital-based clinical rotation from a National League of Nursing accredited school program.
