About the position
The Nurse Tech position at Inspire Specialty Hospital involves providing nursing care and support to patients under the supervision of a Registered Nurse. This role is essential in ensuring patient safety and comfort in a Long Term Acute Care Hospital setting. The Nurse Tech will work three 12-hour shifts per week, contributing to both day and night operations.
Responsibilities
- Provide nursing care and support to patients under the supervision of a Registered Nurse.
- Perform infection control procedures and apply personal protective equipment (PPE).
- Assist with patient hygiene, including showering and oral care.
- Monitor and record vital signs such as heart rate, respiratory rate, and blood pressure.
- Assist in mobilizing patients using gait belts, walkers, and wheelchairs.
- Manage tubes and drains, including emptying and measuring output as appropriate.
- Conduct point of care testing, including glucometer and hemoccult tests.
- Implement fall prevention strategies and precautions.
Requirements
- BLS Certification is required.
- Previous hospital experience is preferred.
- Entry-level nursing experience is acceptable.
