About the position
The Unit Manager - RN at Genesis Healthcare is responsible for overseeing the delivery of high-quality and cost-effective healthcare within an assigned nursing unit. This role involves ensuring positive clinical outcomes, patient and employee satisfaction, and compliance with healthcare regulations and standards. The Unit Manager collaborates with the Director of Nursing and interdisciplinary teams to achieve patient goals and minimize rehospitalizations while mentoring nursing staff and providing direct patient care.
Responsibilities
- Accountable for the delivery of high-quality and cost-effective health care on the assigned nursing unit.
- Ensure care delivery aligns with Genesis HealthCare's mission, vision, values, and policies.
- Collaborate with the Director of Nursing to maintain adequate nursing coverage for safe care.
- Participate in developing, implementing, and evaluating patient goals with the interdisciplinary team.
- Mentor and educate nursing staff, serving as a resource regarding service quality.
- Oversee medication management to ensure compliance with Genesis policy.
- Provide direct patient care alongside unit nurses.
Requirements
- Graduate of an accredited school of nursing.
- Associate Degree in Nursing with three years of nursing experience, or Nursing Diploma with three years of nursing experience, or BSN with two years of nursing experience.
- At least one year of nurse leadership experience.
- Current licensure by the State Board of Examiners of Nurses in the nursing center state.
- Current BLS/CPR certification.
