About the position

The Nursery Attendant at Christ the King Lutheran Church and Preschool is responsible for providing safe, nurturing, and efficient care for children aged 0-5. This role involves engaging with children through play, reading, and prayer, while ensuring a clean and secure environment. The position requires a friendly demeanor and the ability to interact positively with children, parents, and volunteers.

Responsibilities

• Provide age-appropriate care for children aged 0-5, including changing diapers and maintaining a safe environment.
• Engage with children through games, stories, crafts, and play.
• Be polite, friendly, and courteous to all children, parents, and volunteers.
• Arrive 15 minutes prior to the start time of worship services.
• Stay until all children are picked up by responsible adults.
• Straighten the room and clean any used toys before leaving.
• Attend evaluations at the end of 6 months and annually thereafter.
• Work holidays that fall on Sunday and additional hours during busy times.

Requirements

• Dependability
• Ability to care for children aged 0-5 years
• Ability to interact with a variety of personalities
• Must be 18 years of age or older
• Must present and maintain a record of current immunizations, including MMR
• Must have current CPR training/certification for infants and children, or be willing to complete a CPR/AED and First Aid course
• Must attend Safe Place training provided by CtK and pass a criminal background screening
