About the position

The Nursery Worker position involves manual and mechanized tasks related to the production and harvesting of nursery stock. The role requires prior experience in a nursery setting, focusing on plant care, including fertilization and watering, as well as the ability to operate machinery under supervision. Workers will be responsible for various tasks that ensure the health and growth of plants, contributing to the overall productivity of the nursery.

Responsibilities

• Water annuals and perennials and fertilize all plant material.
• Identify lack of nutrition and types of fertilization required for each variety of plant.
• Space plants according to variety and hang basket material.
• Uncover and/or recover winter storage houses.
• Load and unload trucks and wagons of all plant material grown on the farm.
• Operate tractors and other mechanical equipment under supervision.

Requirements

• Minimum of 3 months of verifiable prior experience working in a nursery.
• Knowledge of fertilization and watering of plants.
• Ability to perform manual and mechanized activities with accuracy and efficiency.
• Must be able to lift/carry 60 lbs.
