About the position
This temporary position involves working in a tree nursery, focusing on various outdoor manual tasks related to tree production. The role requires hands-on experience with balled and burlap (B&B) tree production and encompasses a range of activities from planting to harvesting and maintenance of trees.
Responsibilities
- Planting trees and maintaining nursery stock.
- Harvesting and cultivating trees as needed.
- Hoeing, transplanting, and preparing soil for planting.
- Fertilizing and propagating trees to ensure healthy growth.
- Pruning and weeding to maintain tree health and aesthetics.
- Spraying and watering trees to promote growth and prevent disease.
- Mowing and loading/unloading trucks as required.
Requirements
- Minimum of three months of verifiable prior experience in tree nursery work.
- Experience with balled and burlap (B&B) tree production is essential.
- Ability to perform manual and mechanized activities accurately and efficiently.
- Must be able to lift and carry up to 75 lbs.
- Ability to furnish verifiable job references or third-party documentation from recent employers.
