About the position

The Nursing Administrative Assistant plays a crucial role in coordinating schedules, activities, and communication across multiple nursing and clinical departments. This position ensures that providers, patients, families, and visitors receive exceptional care and services by performing general receptionist and clerical duties. The assistant also supports the Trauma Medical Director and Trauma Program Manager in maintaining the trauma registry and participates in quality improvement initiatives.

Responsibilities

  • Coordinate schedules and activities of nursing and clinical departments.
  • Perform general receptionist and clerical duties to facilitate efficient functioning of nursing departments.
  • Assist the Trauma Medical Director and Trauma Program Manager in updating the trauma registry.
  • Collaborate with the Trauma Program Manager to define optimal processes for data abstraction.
  • Ensure data timeliness, accuracy, and completeness for trauma registry inclusion.
  • Lead data extraction and validation for the trauma registry.
  • Participate in the quarterly multidisciplinary trauma committee.

Requirements

  • Valid LPN license or Certified Medical Assistant certification or equivalent.
  • Three to five years of experience in nursing care or administrative support in a clinical or hospital environment.
  • Knowledge of Medical Terminology is required.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Word, Outlook, and Excel.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience with EPIC, PowerPoint, and Access.
