The Personal Care Assistant (PCA) or Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) position involves providing essential support to clients in their daily living activities. This role is crucial for ensuring that clients maintain their dignity and quality of life while receiving the care they need. The PCA/CNA will assist clients with personal hygiene, meal preparation, and mobility, as well as perform light housekeeping tasks to create a safe and comfortable environment. The position requires a compassionate individual who can respond to the needs of clients promptly and effectively, ensuring their safety and well-being at all times. In this role, the PCA/CNA will be responsible for assisting clients with bathing, grooming, and other personal care tasks. They will prepare nutritious meals according to the client's dietary needs and assist with eating when necessary. The PCA/CNA will also help clients with transfers and ambulation, ensuring they can move safely within their home and attend appointments or shopping trips. Light housekeeping duties will be part of the job, aimed at facilitating the client's self-care and maintaining a clean living space. The position requires excellent communication skills, as the PCA/CNA will need to respond to client calls and requests promptly. They must also maintain accurate records of care provided and report any significant changes in the client's condition to the Administrator. While the PCA/CNA will not administer medications or perform sterile procedures, they must be knowledgeable about safety protocols and the proper use of equipment. Confidentiality regarding the client's condition and family must be upheld at all times, in accordance with agency policies and regulations.
