About the position
The Nursing Assistant functions in a complimentary or assistive role under the direct supervision of the Registered Professional Nurse and Licensed Practical Nurse. The Nursing Assistant provides direct patient care and carries out individual duties on select patients in accordance with policies and procedures of Berkshire Medical Center.
Responsibilities
- Provide direct patient care under supervision.
- Carry out individual duties on select patients.
- Follow guidelines, protocols, and policies specific to each unit and the institution.
- Promote patient safety with attention to detail and accuracy.
Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Completion of a Nursing Assistant course and/or current status as a student in a Registered Nurse or LPN preparation program.
- CPR certification is required.
- MA NA REGISTRY - MA Certified Nurse Aide preferred.
- Ability to follow guidelines, protocols, and policies.
- Medical terminology required or willingness to pursue.
- Excellent organizational skills.
- Interpersonal skills necessary to maintain a congenial and calm composure in stressful environments.
- Ability to maintain confidentiality in accordance with hospital policy.
- Dependability to maintain a work schedule.
Nice-to-haves
- Patient care experience preferred.
- Familiarity with Meditech preferred.
