Nursing Assistant (CNA) - Float Pool

About the position

The Nursing Assistant (CNA) position at M Health Fairview's Woodwind's Hospital in Woodbury, MN, is a part-time role within the Float Pool, requiring 0.6 FTE (48 hours per two weeks) with 12-hour day shifts. The role involves providing patient care across various units, including Med/Surg, Orthopedics, Oncology, and ICU, with a focus on holistic nursing practices and effective communication with patients and healthcare teams. This position is ideal for individuals with patient care experience or students returning home for the summer, offering a dynamic work environment with a diverse patient population.

Responsibilities

• Demonstrates commitment to the universal guiding principles of the patient care model to achieve the Woodwinds Nursing vision.
• Supports the Nursing Process to achieve outcome-focused patient care.
• Communicates accurately and effectively with patients, families, and healthcare team members.
• Reinforces patient education as directed by clinical staff.
• Achieves customer service excellence by understanding the needs of all internal and external customers.
• Documents patient information in EHR and/or other electronic systems in accordance with program standards.
• Maintains knowledge of and complies with all relevant laws, regulations, policies, procedures, and standards.
• Actively participates in creating and implementing improvements.
• Performs other responsibilities as needed or assigned.

Requirements

• Successful completion of Fairview's OnTrack Nursing Assistant training program or six months of recent direct care experience in a relevant setting.
• Current enrollment in an LPN, RN, or Nurse Practitioner program with completion of one semester of clinical rotation, or current certification on the Minnesota Nursing Assistant Registry upon hire.
• Basic Life Support (BLS for Healthcare Providers) certification required.
