About the position

PeaceHealth is seeking a Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) or Nursing Assistant Registered (NAR) for a full-time position in Vancouver, Washington. The role involves assisting professional nursing personnel in providing quality patient care, performing both direct and indirect patient care tasks under the supervision of a registered nurse. The position requires a compassionate approach to patient care and the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities

  • Assist in providing direct patient care as delegated by the Registered Nurse within the scope of the CNA licensure.
  • Perform basic technical skills such as CPR, taking and recording vital signs, measuring fluid intake/output, applying dressings, and administering treatments as directed by a physician or nurse.
  • Assist patients with personal care including bathing, grooming, toileting assistance, and hydration.
  • Provide assistance to patients in walking, exercising, and moving in and out of bed.
  • Maintain unit supplies by stocking patient rooms and supply areas.
  • Document relevant patient care data.
  • May provide clerical support to the unit, including order entry and answering telephones.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • Graduate of an approved Certified Nursing Assistant program.
  • Minimum of 1 year experience in an acute care facility preferred.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of age-specific principles of growth and development.
  • Certified Nurse Assistant or Registered Nurse Assistant in Washington required.
  • Basic Life Support certification required upon hire.
  • Excellent communication skills and customer service skills.
