About the position

The Nursing Assistant (NA) at Select Specialty Hospital plays a crucial role in providing care for critically ill or post-ICU patients who require extended hospital care. This full-time position involves working in a team-oriented environment to ensure the physical well-being of patients through various supportive services. The role emphasizes patient care, cleanliness, and maintaining equipment, contributing to an exceptional patient care experience.

Responsibilities

• Performing services for patients including bathing, oral hygiene, and feeding.
• Answering patient lights and providing timely services to enhance patient well-being.
• Participating in hourly rounds to monitor patient needs.
• Transporting patients to and from treatment centers and assisting with mobility.
• Maintaining cleanliness of instruments and equipment such as bedpans and wheelchairs.
• Keeping patient rooms clean and orderly, including making beds.
• Maintaining unit stock levels of supplies and equipment as directed.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent, or relevant work experience (3+ years).
• BLS certification required within 90 days of hire.
• Hospital experience as a nursing assistant or certification as a nursing assistant is required.
• Experience in a related field such as a medical assistant or as an actively enrolled nursing student may be considered.
