About the position

The Nursing Assistant (NA) position at Select Specialty Hospital involves providing care to critically ill or post-ICU patients in a compassionate environment. The role is essential in ensuring the physical well-being of patients through various supportive tasks, contributing to their recovery and comfort during their stay.

Responsibilities

• Performing services for patients including bathing, oral hygiene, oral feeding, and hair care.
• Answering patient lights and providing timely services that enhance patient well-being.
• Participating in hourly rounds to monitor patient needs.
• Transporting patients to and from treatment centers and assisting with moving patients in and out of stretchers and wheelchairs.
• Maintaining cleanliness of instruments and equipment such as bedpans, urinals, and wheelchairs.
• Keeping patient rooms clean and orderly, including making beds.
• Maintaining unit stock levels of supplies and equipment as directed.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent, or relevant work experience (3+ years).
• BLS certification required within 90 days of hire.
• Hospital experience as a nursing assistant, certification as a nursing assistant, or experience in a related field such as a medical assistant or as an actively enrolled nursing student.
