About the position
The Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) at Wellstar Health Systems is responsible for providing care to ill, injured, convalescent, or disabled individuals in various healthcare settings. This role involves assisting with daily living activities, monitoring vital signs, and ensuring a safe and supportive environment for patients. The CNA works under the supervision of registered or licensed practical nurses and is expected to maintain professionalism and sensitivity towards patients and their families.
Responsibilities
- Provide patient/resident care according to the Plan of Care.
- Assist with basic patient/resident care needs such as hygiene, nutrition, and mobility.
- Take and document vital signs, reporting any acute changes to the nurse promptly.
- Maintain confidentiality and protect the rights and dignity of patients/residents.
- Participate in patient/resident rounding and assist with care delivery as assigned.
- Document all patient care delivered in a timely manner as required by policy.
- Perform basic housekeeping duties in the patient/resident's area.
- Ensure safety hazards are removed or controlled in the patient/resident's environment.
- Stock necessary medical supplies and linens in the patient/resident care area.
- Transport patients/residents and specimens as needed.
Requirements
- High School Diploma or equivalent required.
- Certified Nurse Assistant certification required upon hire.
- Basic Life Support certification required upon hire.
- Less than 1 year of related experience required.
- Ability to read, interpret, and understand verbal instructions.
- Basic math skills and ability to comprehend medical terminology.

- Georgia Driver's License preferred upon hire.
