About the position

The Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) plays a crucial role in delivering superior healthcare to residents, promoting their independence, preserving dignity, and improving their quality of life. This position involves providing routine daily nursing care, maintaining a calm atmosphere, and ensuring that residents' personal care and hygiene needs are met. The CNA will work in a skilled nursing facility, assisting with various tasks to support residents in their recovery and long-term care.

Responsibilities

• Provide routine daily nursing care to residents in accordance with established procedures.
• Create and maintain a calm atmosphere throughout the unit/shift.
• Prepare residents for meals, serve trays, and assist with feeding as needed.
• Check residents routinely to ensure their personal care and hygiene needs are met.
• Assist with transportation, lifting, turning, moving, positioning, and transferring residents.
• Answer resident calls promptly and report any changes in residents' conditions.
• Measure and record vital signs such as temperatures, pulse, and blood pressures.

Requirements

• Holds current and good standing CNA Certification in New York State.
• Dedicated to providing extraordinary compassionate care to each resident.
• Energetic, enthusiastic, and committed to quality care.
• Genuinely interested in helping ill, injured, disabled, elderly, and emotionally upset residents.
• Possesses patience, a cheerful disposition, and willingness to assist residents and co-workers.
• Excellent communication, customer service, and organizational skills.
• Trusted to work independently and in a team environment.
• Able to work well under pressure and flexible in approach.
