About the position

The Director of Medical Surgical Oncology, Women's Health Unit, and Orthopedics Unit is a leadership role focused on managing the financial and clinical operations of these departments. This position requires a highly motivated and team-oriented leader who can integrate services, develop policies, and ensure high standards of patient care in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities

  • Manage the financial and clinical operations of assigned areas.
  • Recommend sufficient staffing to provide quality care.
  • Participate in the selection of outside services as needed.
  • Collaborate with recruiters to develop hiring strategies.
  • Integrate department services with the hospital's primary functions.
  • Maintain communication with medical and nursing staff, administration, patients, and families.
  • Develop and implement policies and procedures for service provision.
  • Supervise nursing staff and ensure staff competency.
  • Assess and improve department performance continuously.
  • Promote the Quality Management program and maintain quality control programs.
  • Develop goals and objectives for assigned areas and participate in Nursing Department goals.

Requirements

  • Graduation from an accredited School of Nursing.
  • Bachelor's degree required.
  • Licensed or eligible for licensure in Virginia as a registered nurse.
  • American Heart Association Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required.
  • Five years of current nursing experience required.
  • Two years of management experience required.
  • Must have experience as a Director of Med-Surg.
