About the position

The Nursing Director for Progressive Care at AdventHealth Shawnee Mission is responsible for overseeing the quality of services, operational management, human resource management, and financial management within the assigned nursing environment. This role emphasizes leadership in nursing practice, collaboration with interdisciplinary teams, and advocacy for patient rights and safety. The Nursing Director is expected to promote a culture of learning and respect, ensuring high-quality care delivery and outstanding customer service.

Responsibilities

• Accountability for quality of services and operational management in assigned nursing environments.
• Leadership in the delivery of care and nursing practice within the clinical unit and organization.
• Collaboration with nursing staff, interdisciplinary teams, and executive leaders to ensure quality care delivery.
• Advocacy for the rights and protections of patients, families, and healthcare providers.
• Participation in planning for patient experience and customer service activities.
• Promotion of a respectful and open learning environment for staff development.
• Evaluation of healthcare quality and appropriateness for assigned patient populations.
• Active participation in clinical committees affecting patient care and outcomes.

Requirements

• Kansas Registered Nurse License
• BCLS obtained through the American Heart Association
• Bachelor's Degree in Nursing
